On the expansion of enrolled college students

Many colleges and universities have expanded their enrollment since 1998. The reasons for the expansion are as follows. Firstly, we can keep up with the needs of job markets by producing more college graduates . Secondly, the expansion has allowed more high school graduates to have the access to receive higher education. Last but not least, it can raise the intellectual standards of our nation.

However, studies show that the expansion has brought about some problems. For instance, the teaching facilities and accommodation capacities of many colleges and universities are limited and are unable to meet the demand of the ever-increasing enrolled college students. What is worse, as the average quality of the enrolled college students is falling sharply, the average quality of colloge graduates is inevitably declining more ore less. As a result, hunting for a job has been and will be a tough thing for the graduates , which may damage the harmony of our society if proper measures not taken.

As far as I am concerned , the expansion is necessary but the number should be controlled scientifically. Only in this way , can we not only produce enough qualified people for job markets but also minimize the disavantages of the expansion.
