Sonnet 18

——William Shakespear
Shall I compare thee to a summer's day?
Thou art more lovely and more temperate:
Rough winds do shake the darling buds of May,
And summer's lease hath all too short a date:
Sometime too hot the eye of heaven shines,
And often is his gold complexion dimm'd;
And every fair from fair sometime declines,
By chance or nature's changing course untrimm'd
But thy eternal summer shall not fade
Nor lose possession of that fair thou owest;
Nor shall Death brag thou wander'st in his shade,
When in eternal lines to time thou growest:
So long as men can breathe or eyes can see,
So long lives this and this gives life to thee.

To tell the truth, I prefer the Chinese version better than the original one. Cuz there are so so so many words that I don't know. Only by reading the Chinese version can I feel something from it. He sang the praise of "thee" in such a direct way that even I am overwhelmed by the enthusiasm he showed. To me, the last sentence is my favorate. The words are big, and the meaning is profound.

There is another version on the internet, the ancient Chinese one. Well, I'm not going to put it here; it's so concise and......hard to understand. But you can have a try, it will broaden our horizon, I'M PRETTY SURE.
